Hunting, also called "hound hunting", is an ancestral method of hunting which consists of pursuing a wild animal (traditionally deer, wild boar, roe deer, fox or hare) with a pack of hounds, until it reaches its target. exhaustion and its intake. Only dogs hunt, thanks to their sense of smell and their predatory instinct. The role of the man, generally a cavalier for the occasion, consists of controlling them and following them.
Hunting with hounds is practiced in France, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy and Portugal (Santo Huberto crew). In France, we hunt deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox, hare and rabbit.
