Ceramic lamp base glazed and signed by Meynard, Vallauris, circa 1950-1960. Beautiful baluster-shaped ceramic lamp base, completely covered with a stunning speckled blue-turquoise glaze, enhanced by a stylized vegetal decoration carved in relief into the clay.

The granular texture and iridescent shades of the glaze testify to the craftsmanship of the Vallauris workshops, the cradle of French art ceramics from the mid-20th century. Signed under the base Meynard, after the ceramicists Robert and Violette Meynard, based in Vallauris. Height 37 cm. Diameter at maximum about 15.5 cm. In good condition with signs of use and age.
