In 1884, he married Marie Albertine Cnudde, a lyric artist, and the couple lived in Lyon. He exhibited at the Salon de Lyon as well as at the Salon of French artists, receiving an honorable mention in 1905, a third-class medal in 1908, and winning the Rosa-Bonheur Prize in 1927.
