Art Deco buffet by Saddier & Sons in solid rosewood and rosewood veneer. Shellac finish.

Handles and hardware in solid brass. Characteristic work of F. and G. Saddier for this buffet with tiered crenelated feet, enhanced with slightly raised floral motifs. Signed with the manufacturer's metal plate "Saddier et ses Fils".

Circa 1925-1930. L 150 cm X D 50 cm X H 98.5 cm with a pediment height of 128.5 cm. Interior shelves: L 52 X D 44 cm / interior height 2 X 40 cm / Top drawer: L 29 X D 43 X H 11.5 cm / Bottom drawer: L 29 X D 43 X H 16 cm. The buffet is in very good condition, with just 3 small bumps on the corner of the pediment + panel on the right side + rear right corner (see detailed photos). Very meticulous packaging in 3 layers (see photos).

For a bit of history: Gaston and Fernand Saddier started in the early 1920s with their eponymous furniture factory Saddier et ses Fils, which their father had inherited.

Saddier et ses Fils exhibited their furniture at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925. The Saddier and Sons company, specialized in art furniture, seating, and decorations, was headquartered in Paris, at 29-31 Rue des Boulets, in the well-known Saint-Antoine neighborhood of cabinetmakers in Paris. An album, preserved at the Museum of Decorative Arts - 107 Rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris, features, through six photographs, works by the Saddier company, including the furniture specially designed for the Palais de la Porte Dorée - 293 Av.
