This type of flexible tape was widely used by tailors, architects, woodworkers or surveyors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The tape, made of printed fabric (probably waxed linen or fortified cotton), still has visible graduations in centimeters. The upper brass button was used to unwind or lock the tape. The terminal metal hook is original. A beautiful antique instrumentation object, at once practical, authentic and decorative, which will appeal to enthusiasts of trade objects or industrial curiosities. Condition: Good general condition for its age. Visible wear on the leather and the tape, stains and natural patina, but the whole remains legible and functional.
