Engraved crystal champagne cups – late 19th / early 20th century Beautiful engraved crystal champagne cups, with a classic flared shape resting on a stem with a central knotted band and a wide circular foot. Décor: the bowl is adorned with an engraved frieze composed of several registers – a row of dotted/scaly patterns at the top, a frieze of intertwined motifs (garlings in braces) just below, followed by a play of crossed ribbons in undulating arches that encircle the body of the cup.

This ornamental repertoire, very fine and executed with a wheel, is characteristic of French crystal services from the late 19th/early 20th century (in the spirit of Baccarat or Saint-Louis productions, without certainty of attribution in the absence of a visible signature). Material: perfectly transparent crystal, fine cutting and engraving, well-ground pontil under the foot. Condition: 2 cups with chips. Era: late 19th / early 20th century.
