Antique wicker basket with closure and handle.
Some missing links in the wicker, particularly at one corner; the closure fasteners have been replaced with leather-like weaving. A forged metal rod (likely a repurposed old tool) allows the basket to be sealed for transport.
Slight wear underneath and a weakness in one segment of the handle (still functional).
Overall good condition, it has been thoroughly cleaned and nourished with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine.
Pretty as well as practical (storage for linen; preservation of fruits and vegetables...).
