This set of six Mamezara (literally "bean plates," a term referring to a small size of 8 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height). Made of speckled stoneware, they feature a hand-painted Ume (plum) design, a Japanese symbol of perseverance and renewal.
Each piece bears the "crown" signature on the back, emblematic of quality Japanese productions intended for export (period 1960-1980). These artisanal pieces are ideally designed for serving soy sauce (sushi), presenting condiments, or as tea bag rests.
Very good condition.
