The medal, made of bronze and circular in shape, was awarded by the Abbey of Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux located in Le Barroux, in Vaucluse, France, to commemorate the centenary of the death of Sainte-Hénée, the humble young Carmelite from Lisieux, France, known affectionately to English speakers as Little Flower.
