The sections of the arches are thinner than those of the second model, and the central arch is not prominent to serve as a handle. In original condition without major restoration, this piece has been cleaned and then polished with shellac. This type of furniture is generally not stamped by Thonet, but it does not need a signature to be cataloged. It is in the well-known "decor" version in rosewood.
