WITCH MIRROR IN TALOSEL BY EDITH BARBIER PATINE MOUCHETE 1960 VINTAGE C1241 This mirror is well in the spirit of Line Vautrin, it is signed, with an engraving behind Édith Barbier You will notice a small accident and some wear of the mercury. It is in its own juice. Dating from the 60s, it is sold as is. Note a crack in the mirror frame, the mirror is pitted in several places. Its condition is presentable, very decorative, it will appeal to Vintage enthusiasts. “Talosel” is a material invented around 1955 by the artist Line Vautrin made up of layers of resin superimposed, scraped, scarified and worked in the fire with the inclusion of various materials such as mirror shards. The name is taken from the designation of the material: “Elaborated Cellulose Acetate“ More specifically intended for furniture or jewelry this material, whose implementation constraints can be compared to bakelite, however it has been used with happiness in a few rare bindings and for the realization of some writing objects whose resistance to aging is however not perfect.
