The French polytechnic school:
It was founded in 1794 by the National Convention under the name École centrale des travaux publics and militarized in 1804 by Napoleon I. Originally located in Paris, the school has been in Palaiseau (Essonne) since 1976, at the heart of the Paris-Saclay technological hub. It has the status of a public establishment with scientific, cultural, and professional character (EPSCP-GE), constitutes a prestigious military school whose engineering cycle is under the supervision of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, and is a founding member of the Institut polytechnique de Paris. It is mainly known for training engineers, whose students and alumni are called "polytechniciens."

Steel scabbard in its patina with bronze fittings, marked with the letter: "EF" with the same number as the sword "Manufacture française d'armes et cycle Saint Etienne." With its shoulder belt and wrist strap. A magnificent piece in its patina, in very good condition, to be seized for any knowledgeable and passionate collector of the French army. Very pleasant to hold and observe in a showcase! Splendid piece, completely and 100% original!
