Workshop lamp signed Louis Ferdinand Solère. An emblematic piece of technical lighting from the 1950s, it combines perfect functionality with a timeless industrial aesthetic.
This model features a telescopic arm and a large circular shade, complete with its famous "Solersol" blue resin diffuser. Its finish in green hammered paint, perfectly preserved, is a visual signature of the workshops and design offices of the post-war period.
Beyond its appearance, this lamp shines in its technicality. The shade is highly mobile: it can be oriented in all directions thanks to a ball joint system, allowing for precise lighting. To ensure perfect balance, even when the arm is fully extended, its base is weighted with a piece of original cast iron.
The authenticity of the piece is certified by the "SOLR" monogram stamped in relief on the shade's metal. It has undergone a careful restoration: the electrical wire and plug have been replaced for safer use, but the old lever switch (on the dome) and the brass socket have been retained.
This lamp has traversed decades while maintaining a beautiful patina. A slight deformation (bump) can be noted on the base as well as on the dome of the shade. The blue resin diffuser has a small chip on its edge (as shown in the photo), which is common in these fragile pieces, but it remains perfectly functional. The whole piece shows signs of use (paint loss, micro-scratches) consistent with its age and use.
Dimensions: 69 x 43 x 28 cm / Diameter of shade: 28 cm / Maximum arm length: 61 cm / Minimum arm length: 39 cm / Cable length: 180 cm.
