Sublime silversmith's work, relief decorations of lilies and flowers around the perimeter, decorations engraved around the top. He becomes an important citizen, maintaining trade relations with Brazil and the gold sector. He then cultivated close relations with the goldsmith industry. Maria Delfina, his only daughter, marries José Pinto Leitão. 1822 - Orfèvrerie PopulaireJosé Pinto Leitão patented the hallmark (personal mark of manufacture) "JPL" and opened his shop in Rua das Flores, the street par excellence of goldsmiths in Porto. “… At that time, the type of establishment was the boutique-workshop, where the goldsmith worked in front of customers, near the“ caixão ”(coffin), the cash desk. We mainly made the “heart”, creoles, chains, the pieces that we wore to parties, sung mass, popular festivals in the north… ”1837 - Marriage Marriage of José Pinto Leitão and Maria Delfina, daughter scored by José Teixeira da Trindade. This union was decisive for the development of Leitão store. 1866 - Europe The store stands out nationwide. Narciso and Olindo, son of the founder, take over the family business and adopt the designation Leitão & Irmão. They are modernizing manufacturing by incorporating new materials and investing in machinery. They spread abroad, establishing subsidiaries in Paris and London, thus developing a considerable network of contacts. 1872 - Brazil Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil, grants Leitão & Irmão the title of “Goldsmith of the Imperial House from Brazil ". The relationship between the Crown and the Leitão store dates back to the Siege of Porto (1832/1833). Indeed, during this period, José Teixeira da Trindade established special relations with Pedro IV of Portugal and I of Brazil. 1887 - Jewelers of the CrownOn December 1, King Luís I attributed to Leitão & Irmão the title of "Jewelers of the Crown ". The Royal House continues to choose Leitão & Irmão for the creation of gifts for family members, friends and personalities. Queen Maria Pia was also an enthusiastic and loyal customer. His role was decisive in the acquisition of countless utility and decorative objects, in silver and gold. For the most part, these objects were refined and sober, thus demonstrating a preference for neo-rococo aesthetics.
