Beautiful plates in purple monochrome from the C.M. & S (Charles Meigh & Sons) factory in North Staffordshire.
The stamp makes it possible to date these plates to the years 1850-1860.
The hollow indian stone china mark indicates that these plates contain china stone which is a fine clay used in ceramics.
The store in which they were marketed at 17 rue Drouot is Emile Bourgeois' first depot.
Given their long journey through time, these plates are in very good condition with a refined patina.
It is fair to note scratches and marks of time; some plates have slight cracks.
Details are in the photos that accompany this description.
