Glassware service for orangeade with blown bubble glass.
It consists of a carafe and 6 glasses.
The bubbles are well visible without being too large for better sturdiness.
The set is in perfect condition except for a chip on the base of one of the glasses, see photo 8. There are no other chips on the other glasses or the carafe, including the necks which are the most exposed.
The capacity of the glasses is approximately 300 ml. The capacity of the carafe is approximately 3.2 liters (liquid 1.5 cm from the edge on either side).
The large capacity of the carafe allows it to be filled with ice cubes and then the drink, such as fruit juices, mint water, etc. This allows one to stay at the table with guests while keeping a drink cool without having to go back to the kitchen. The large capacity of the glasses allows for a few ice cubes to be served with the drink, but I know very well that I am not telling you anything new!
The blue color is much more beautiful than the more common brown, green, yellow, or gray shades. Since it is quite light, the color of the drink comes out better. On one of the glasses, there is a blue grain of glass coloring that did not melt during the glass fusing.
On the underside of each glass, the carafe, and the handle of the carafe, you can see the mark of the pontil (rod) of the glassblower. It is beautiful work for quality enthusiasts.
The current new price is approximately 400 to 450 euros, based on the online store of the Biot glassworks.
The height of the glasses is about 16 cm and that of the carafe is about 22 cm.
The total weight is 4.2 kg. The very well-protected package will weigh 7 to 8 kg for a safe journey.
