Superb series of 7 frames with engravings written in Latin from the 17th century depicting the 7 Wonders of the World. They are in good condition, with only the engravings glued to wood, one glass missing, and a few slight defects (see photos). There are 7 frames that measure 59.5 cm wide by 48 cm high and 3 cm thick. The engravings measure 50 cm wide by 40 cm high. It is truly a very beautiful and uncommon set. On one frame, the engraving is marked "Quintum Mirabile Mundi Magnificum Templum Dianae Ephesinae" - translation "The fifth Wonder of the World is the magnificent Temple of Diana at Ephesus." On another frame, the engraving is marked "Septimum Mirabile Mundi Magna Turis Sharis Alexandrini" - translation "The seventh Wonder of the World is the great Tower of Alexandria."
