19th century Choisy le Roi dish: Sailboat. Superb and rare old round, half-deep dish decorated with a sailboat in rough seas. The rim is decorated with white Louis XV scrolls, in tone-on-tone relief. Underside, signature: Faïence d'Art H. Boulenger et Cie.Choisy le Roi. Good condition, note a very fine 3 cm hair under the rim, not crossing. This dish has been little used, hence its impeccable whiteness. It was on the wall of a beautiful property on the Ile de Ré with other different models. Diameter: 33.5 cm.
