QUADRIFOGLIO FLOOR LAMP BY GAE AULENTI FOR HARVEY GUZZINI VINTAGE 1974 L1385This Quadrifoglio floor lamp made by Gae Aulenti for Harvey Guzzini in 1974 is superb. The base and rods are chrome plated, the reflector is white plastic with a brushed metal top cover. Two types of ignition are presented on this model. One bulb on the top and three bulbs in the reflector. Italian architect-designer Gaetana Gae Aulenti (1927-2012) was born in the town of Palazzolo dello Stella, near Trieste. Going against her parents' wishes, she studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, graduating in 1954. They were only two women in a class of 20 students. From 1955 to 1965, Gae Aulenti was a contributor and artistic director of the architecture magazine Casabella. At this time, she became an active member of the Neo Liberty movement and supported the revival of traditional patterns and individual expression, which had been discouraged during those years of modernist domination. His work includes design exhibitions, furniture, graphics, scenography, lighting and interior designs. She soon became one of the leading voices of 20th century postmodernism. His work was notably presented during the exhibition Italy: The New Domestic Land scape at MoMa in 1972, along with other pioneers such as Mario Bellini, Joe Colombo, Ettore Sottsass, and Super studio. In furniture, branding and interior design, Gae Aulenti has worked with major international brands such as Artemide, Banca Commerciale Itliana, Fiat, Ideal Standard, Knoll International, Louis Vuitton, Martinelli Luce, Olivetti and Pirelli . His main designs include Pileino Lamp for Artemide (1972), the Giova Lamp (1964), Tavolo Con Ruote Table (1980) and Tour Table (1993) for Fontana Arte; the Sgarsul Rocking Chair (1962) and Locus Solus Chair (1963) for Poltranova; April Folding Chair (1964), San Marco Table (1984) for Zanotta. Most of his designs are still in production today. For the state, we report pitting on the chrome of the rods and the base, friction and micro-scratches on the white reflector. This floor lamp remains however in good general condition, no wire cut switch. Attention we sell it untested, unrevised, the electricity is old, it needs to be replaced for safety reasons. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 165 cm Reflector diameter: 53 cm Base diameter: 36 cm P: 929600 I remain at your disposal for any questions.
