Man from the Louis XVI or Directoire period, dressed in a dark jacket (possibly a simplified civil or military uniform) with golden buttons and a powdered wig typical of the second half of the 18th century. Gouache painting. Oval frame in gilded brass, mounting on the back with folded metal teeth, characteristic of period mountings (19th century).
