Good overall condition. Very beautiful work for this snowy landscape by Eugène Louis Gillot, done in pastel on canvas, delivered with its green frame, as shown in the photo. Biography of the artist: Eugène Louis Gillot (1867/68 - 1925) was active/lived in France. He is known for being a French Impressionist painter of genre scenes and water landscapes. Eugène Louis Gillot was a French Impressionist painter born in Paris in the 19th century. He was nicknamed "painter of lights" and "French Turner" due to his bright and misty landscapes of Paris and Venice. Gillot became the protégé of Baron Dard from a young age and was heavily influenced by Turner during his travels to London. He was invited to depict the coronation of George V and was part of their entourage during their official trip to Paris. After the war, Gillot turned to scenes of circus and music hall, leading him to adopt brighter tones. He was appointed "Official Painter of the Navy" in 1921 and co-founded with Fouqueray the National Society of Fine Arts of the Sea and the Marine Salon.
