A similar work is preserved at the Centre Georges Pompidou, highlighting its rarity and historical significance. Otto Freundlich, a pioneer of abstract art, saw a large part of his work destroyed by the Nazis, making this print even more precious. Dimension: see the last photo. Biography of the artist: Otto Freundlich (1878-1943) was a German painter and sculptor of Jewish descent, a major figure in abstract art. Settled in Paris since 1908, he associated with Picasso, Braque, and Modigliani at the Bateau-Lavoir. A member of the groups "Cercle et Carré" and "Abstraction-Création," his work was stigmatized as "degenerate art" by the Nazis in 1937, leading to the destruction of many pieces. Interned and then deported, he was murdered at Sobibor in 1943. His rare works are now displayed in the largest museums, including the Centre Georges Pompidou.
