Charles Gautier, the founder, started on rue de Montholon from 1849 to 1853, then at 6 rue Lamartine from 1854 to 1899, finishing at 5 rue Rochechouart from 1899 to 1972.
In 1866 Charles Gautier joined forces with Baillet La Marque à l'Ancre de Marine B.G.
