In 1900, he entered the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Subsequently, he will travel a lot, especially in Europe. In 1909, he moved to France, to Paris, a city with which he fell in love. Léon Abramovich Zeytlin was only 15 years old when he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. After graduating in 1908, he left Moscow to travel to Europe before settling in the Parisian capital. Passionate about the beauty of the City of Light, he enjoyed some success in the 1920s by painting daily Parisian life as well as the fashionable places of the capital. His works represent the famous Haussmannian boulevards very in vogue such as the Champs Elysées or the Avenue de l'Opéra as well as many social scenes, dinners, or even ball scenes. The seascapes are also part of a theme treated by the Russian painter even if they are far removed from the frivolity of his Parisian scenes. His work is emblematic of his attention to detail, whether it concerns architecture or the characters appearing in it. The pictorial treatment given to his work reveals the influence of the French impressionists on his work. In addition, the chosen subjects highlight the modernity that Paris received in the second half of the 19th century. This scene represents boats at the quay, with fishermen on the quay and in a boat, we report stains, wear and friction, also small bites in various places. The work remains in a very good condition with its wooden frame decorated with foliage and a gilded metal plaque on which is engraved the name Leon Zeytline. Sold uncleaned nature untouched.
