Sébastien Touret was born in 1950 in Marolles (Loir-et-Cher) and lives in Monthou-sur-Bièvre, near Blois. He learned drawing and sculpture from his father, the sculptor Jean Touret. In painting, he considers the landscape as a starting point and pretext, but mainly seeks the "play of painting": a balance between drawing, material, and color, with a lively and bold gesture.
