ANCIENT OIL ON CANVAS 18TH OR 19TH SPANISH CONQUISTADOR NATURAL WOOD FRAME This oil on canvas was made by Arthur Midy, it is a reproduction of "the man with the golden helmet" which has long been attributed to Rembrandt and disassigned in 1986.Arthur Midy was born in Saint Quentin en Yveline. From these twelve years, his talents as a painter are encouraged by the city, which grants him multiple prizes and awards, and will finance his training at the Beaux-Arts. At the same time, he will follow an artistic training at the Académie Julian in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1897 to 1928. It was at the age of 28 that he discovered Le Faouët, and that he was introduced to the genre scene and landscape, abandoning the subjects of history or biblical for which he was formed. From now on he will share his life between Paris and Le Faouët. It was made with great skill and the technique is very interesting, however it is in poor condition here are the defects, many frictions on the paint, cracks and gaps, you will notice three important holes.
