It has merged with Brignogan-Plages to form the new commune of Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages. Georges Levreau (1867-1936) was a French painter born in Nantes. His work consists of numerous portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. He is credited with the decoration of the Italian-style theater in La Roche-sur-Yon. He is also known for his decorations of the brasserie La Cigale in Nantes, which he created in 1895.
