OIL ON CANVAS ORIENTAL SCENE BY PIERRE OUTIN LATE XIXth H3741 This oil on canvas represents an oriental street scene, one can imagine a vegetable seller on the right, in a probably identifiable historical place. It was produced by Pierre Outin at the end of the 19th century, this artist is known for his oriental subjects. The technique is excellent. The frame is in stucco with copper gilding around the edge. Pierre Outin (1840-1889) painter of historical scenes, gallant genre scenes, also produced orientalist scenes. Remembering his long stay in Algeria, these orientalist paintings are elegantly composed. We find there all the talents of designer and colorist of Outin. The warm atmosphere of the Orient, the costumes of the characters and the architecture are magnified by its palette, which is both rich and delicate. Note small white spots in places, cracks on the frame. We have deliberately chosen not to restore this work so that the collector can see that it has not been distorted. A simple cleaning will revive the colors, there is still a small restoration to be done. Sold as is, as presented. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom.
