OIL ON CANVAS BY JEAN PAUL SAVIGNY COTE ROCHEUSE BRITTANY FRAME GOLD H3230 This oil on canvas is a large format by Jean Paul Savigny. Unfortunately there are small paint peeling. It is a pointillist work. The frame is original, all is nature. The work has not been cleaned, some traces to report but it remains in a completely acceptable condition. Jean Paul SAVIGNY (1933-2001) is an artist born in 1933.Unanimously known to Scaérois and in the profession, Jean-Paul Savigny has definitely put away his easel and his brushes. Born in Pont-Aven in 1933, into a family of artists including Henri Delavallée (one of the leaders of the Pont-Aven school, friend of Gauguin) and Berthe Savigny (sculptor and painter, ceramist at HB in Quimper) , Jean-Paul Savigny felt his vocation born very early. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Quimper under the direction of Robert Villard, he moved to Paris and attended the Jullian academy. He also learned engraving from Robert Cami. Married to a Scaéroise, Jean-Paul Savigny set up his workshop in Kernéant at the end of the 1950s. After having traveled the Bigouden country, he devoted himself to highlighting the countryside of our region. He gradually abandoned knife painting to adopt a style qualified as neo-impressionism and pointillism. In recent years, the touch had become wider again, the colors more mellow. Jean-Paul Savigny, in addition to the Scaéroise countryside, found his inspiration in Pont-Aven, in Les Glénan. He also brought back many paintings from stays in Greece, Venice and Angoulème. More recently, he had been interested in sailboats like “Le Belem” or “Recouvrance”, in the wake of the gatherings of Brest and Douarnenez. During his long career, Jean-Paul Savigny has always wanted to renew his inspiration. His “bouquets” from the 80s are famous. He also composed on the seabed in 98, the Nudes in 99. Sold as presented. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description.
