OIL ON CANVAS LANDSCAPE UNDER WOOD BY E ASTRUC XXEME A4142 This oil on canvas was produced by Edmond Astruc.Born November 4, 1878, rue Guintrand (Panier district) in Marseille, he studied at Lycée Thiers, then at School des Beaux-arts, while working with his father in the morning at the family tannery and leather goods. He wants to be a painter, his first watercolors date from 1888, he is 10 years old. participates in numerous exhibitions in Marseille, Paris, Algiers, Lyon, Grenoble, Geneva, Aix-en-Provence ... and participates every year from 1930 to 1939, then after in 1946, at the Salon des Artistes de Provence where he has many prizes and in particular the price of places. Some works are bought by the General Council, the Cantini and Longchamp museums. In 1952, he presented at the Galerie Moulot, “55 years of painting by the painter from Marseille Edmond ASTRUC” where we can follow all the evolution of his art, from his first watercolors to the last to date: “the porch of the City of Marseille ”. On January 9, 1977, he worked in his studio on a large canvas“ La Favière ”. He had a bit of a cold. The canvas remains unfinished. He died slowly on January 11. He is 99 years old. A pretty technique of pretty lighting the work represents a landscape of undergrowth, the whole is twentieth in a rather good state of conservation. We report wear and friction on the whole a slight deformation on the middle. It is sold unframed. Sold uncleaned nature untouched. For the state thank you for detailing the photos.
