Description

Magnificent sculpture of a walking pheasant, in iridescent polychrome patinated bronze, with subtly nuanced golden, brown, and green reflections. The metalwork highlights the delicacy of the plumage, elegantly engraved and enhanced with stylized golden lines typical of the Art Deco period. The slender and dynamic bird rests on an elegant rectangular terrace made of veined onyx in cream, honey, and amber tones, characteristic of the decorative mounts of the 1930s. Materials: polychrome patinated bronze and onyx. Period: around 1925–1935. Style: French Art Deco. Maximum dimensions with terrace: 39.4 x 11.8 x height 19 cm. Weight: 4729 grams. This type of model is in the spirit of works by Irénée Rochard, Ménneville, Le Faguays, or Bouraine, often published by Max Le Verrier. The iridescent finish and proud pose of the pheasant particularly recall the bronzes of Descomps. I would only note a few minor chips along the edge of the terrace. Very careful shipping worldwide - Order pick-up available by appointment, 7 rue Notre-Dame 18000 Bourges. Possibility of grouping within the same package: please contact me beforehand so I can calculate your optimized shipping costs.
