Pupil of Cormon, Humbert and Fouqueray, Georges D'Argouges exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, obtaining a third medal in 1924 and a second medal in 1930. First Second Grand Prix of Rome in 1924, Georges D'Argouges is a painter complete, with the temperament of a reporter when he became the official painter of the Army in 1959. Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique for 20 years, he loved above all to teach in his studio on rue Bartholdi in Paris. He painted scenes of the life of fishermen in Brittany, but also scenes of processions, again exercising his profession as an artist as a real reporter.
