The story of Silver Match began in 1957 when Robert Hocq designed and manufactured in France a lighter model with a modern, extra-flat design: the Compound. First gasoline-powered, then gas-powered in 1959, the Compound enjoyed considerable worldwide success. It will even make Silver Match one of the most important protagonists, if not the leader, in the lighter market!
