ENGRAVING BY EUGENE VERBOECKHOVEN ENGRAVER PAUL LAUTERS IMP DEGOBERT XIXEME M349 This engraving is entitled "Flock of sheep beaten by a downpour", it is XIX, after a work by Eugene Verboeckhoven, and engraved by Paul Lauters. It was printed and published by the Maison Pierre-Joseph Degobert in Brussels.Eugène Verboeckhoven is a painter of animals, animated landscapes and portraits, sculptor, engraver, lithographer and Belgian museum director born in Warneton on June 9, 1798 and died in Schaerbeek on the 19 January 1881.Paul Lauters, born in Brussels on July 16, 1806 and died in Ixelles on November 12, 1875, was a Belgian painter, watercolorist, lithographer, etcher.Pierre-Joseph Degobert born in Tournai in 1806 and died in Brussels in 1844. He is one of the main publishers of lithographs from the 1830s and the beginning of the 1840s. Note scratches and friction on the engraving especially above the bridge, a lack on the top in the clouds as well a stain co ulure in the clouds, the frame is very damaged and the whole is sold without the protective glass. You will notice freckles in the margin and the pass which is very damaged holes and stains.
