EMPIRE CLOCK WITH GRIFFINS BY S MARTI GOLD BRONZE EARLY XIXTH BLACK MARBLE M806 This clock is guaranteed to be from the Empire period, it is from the very beginning of the 19th century. We find a small inscription behind the frame indicating "Bronze Medal S. Marti". This clock is of high quality. Indeed, the griffins are finely executed, the dial is in enamel, the balance wheel is decorated with a butterfly, the top represents a palmette. Everything has its original gilding. It is supported by a black marble, with soft mixture of black marble and white marble. The two macaroons are in biscuit, you will notice that the macaroons were reglued later (very barely visible traces of regluing). For the condition, note slight friction on the bronze and the enamel dial, gins and small losses on the bronze base, stains and tightening to be reviewed on the marble columns, however this clock remains in decent general condition. It is sold as is, unrevised, uncleaned, untested, I do not guarantee operation. It is chic and will be perfect for a collector, a watchmaker, a merchant, an informed individual.
