Biography of Harrison Fisher Harrison Fisher was born on July 27, 1875 (or 1877) in Brooklyn, New York, into a family of artists. His father and grandfather were painters themselves, allowing him to receive early artistic training. He studied at the San Francisco Art Association and became one of the most prominent illustrators of his time, alongside Howard Chandler Christy and Neysa McMein. Fisher is best known for his illustrations of elegant women, often published on the covers of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, The Saturday Evening Post, and The Ladies’ Home Journal. His works, characterized by delicate features and great elegance, marked the golden age of American illustration. He was also a jury member for the "Fame and Fortune" contest of the magazine Motion Picture Classic, which discovered Clara Bow. He died on January 19, 1934, in New York, leaving behind a significant artistic legacy in the field of illustration and advertising.
