Description

This decorative egg from the 80s/90s belonged to the great great grandparents of a man in his forties who went on a trip to the Canary Islands and brought back this souvenir. It is about the History of this island Gomera of the archipelago of the Canary Islands and which is the following. Gomera has long been the subject of colonization projects for centuries including Spain. You should know that the Canarians are 90% Spaniards before having Arabs, Asians, etc. That's why they speak Spanish but most often they use Catalan. This also explains the presence of caravels. For the royal coat of arms and the religious cross, the Catholic kings and the Church finance and prepare the expeditions. The kings also decide the future of the remote colonized land. Now go back to the 80s/90s. It was in 1982 that the autonomous status of the Canary Islands was decided. They waited 46 years to get it! The first request for this status dates back to the Second Republic, but was delayed by the Spanish Civil War, the Franco dictatorship… Autonomy was therefore only established when democracy returned.
