Capodimonte porcelain group – Naples – 19th century – engagement scene Charming antique Capodimonte porcelain group depicting a gallant scene from the early 19th century. The composition features a young man presenting a ring to a young woman elegantly dressed. The scene suggests a proposal of engagement in the Neapolitan romantic style. The costumes are finely decorated with polychrome floral patterns, enhanced with gilding. The faces are expressive and delicately modeled. The whole rests on an oval molded base with a rococo design highlighted in gold. Mark Present under the base of a crowned N in blue under glaze, attributed to Capodimonte, Naples. Condition Good overall antique condition. Notable: Missing a finger on the male figure Missing a finger on the female figure Small chips to the flower petals These defects are visible and consistent with age. Dimensions Length: 11.5 cm (4.3") Width: 7 cm (2.75") Height: 16 cm (6.3") A decorative and collectible piece typical of Neapolitan productions from the 19th century. Country of origin: Italy
