TOUCANS BOOKENDS BY FRECOURT REGULE ARGENTE 1930 GREEN MARBLE M506 This pair of bookends is very elegant, it was made by Maurice Frécourt. Maurice Frécourt began to practice in 1890, a date which is often wrongly given as the date of his birth. His youth and his enthusiasm allowed him to make a name for himself in the field of bronze arts of the Belle Epoque. But it was from the Salon of 1920 that he acquired fame and prestige, successfully translating the hieratic imperatives of the Art Decor style into his vision of the animal world. His variations on the elephant, the panther and the monkey have become classics of stylized animal representation. This is a fine quality silver regulator, guaranteed 1930, we are here in a beautiful Art-Deco production, these are Toucans who hold a ball in their plinths on a green marble base. We report friction and wear on the subjects, an apparent screw on the base of a pelican on the back, a ball which is to be reattached on one of the nozzles, and two grain-marks on the angles of the marble bases, however nothing very dramatic, the whole remains in fair general condition. The set weighs 1.02 kilograms. Sold uncleaned. Thank you for detailing the photos. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Total height: 14 cm Total width: 12 cm Total depth: 8 cm Toucans: Height: 13 cm Width: 9 cm Depth: 5 cm P: 857934S: 77WD3ZPP I remain at your disposal for any questions.
