In the lineage of Marcel Breuer, Le Corbusier, Mart Stam, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the French contributed to the design of the Bauhaus, mainly Emile Guillot and René Herbst who worked for Thonet between 1929 and 1939. Here is a floor coat rack N°B132, designed by Emile Guillot for Thonet in nickel-plated steel, found in the Thonet catalog of 1934. The craftsmanship is remarkable, the condition perfect, in its original state, with some small spots at the bottom giving it a slight patina. There was a painted version of the B132 and another model with wooden balls (see attached photo). Dimensions: H: 180 cm, the base is contained within an equilateral triangle of 50 cm per side, directly under the head of this parrot. This object is stamped with a number underneath one of its legs.
