Description
Baccarat crystal wine decanter, Gouvieux model. The Gouvieux model was created by Georges Chevalier in the early 1930s and featured in the 1933 tableware catalog. Its acid-etched arabesques are the same as those of the highly sought-after Rohan model; but it is also the same motif used in the Châteaubriant and Combourg models. The models are distinguished by the shape of the glasses and decanters, but several sets can easily be mixed on a table. Our piece, produced before 1936, does not bear the crystal factory's signature, but is numbered 34 on the stopper. Height 24 cm without stopper 20 cm.
