Description

Large and imposing arched double entrance door made of solid oak, with two pairs of opening glazed panels in the upper part.

The whole measures 248.5cm high by 144.5cm wide in total (73.5cm + 71cm (73cm with the rebate)).
In the style of the 18th century, it dates from the 19th century.
Massive and sturdy, this door features a beige-yellow painted oak on the outside and yellow on the inside.
It has been completely cleaned.
The entire oak is solid, with signs of use and age clearly visible mainly on the exterior facade at the junction between the two doors and at the bottom.

The facade has a base and features three frames with bold moldings.
The top presents for each leaf 2 wrought iron grilles, one on the first rectangular glazed section, and one adapted to the upper arched part, both painted black. These grilles are in perfect condition.
The glazed panels are original, covered with a print to obscure the interior, and open from the inside, with two small latches for the two large panes, and one latch for the arched glass at the top, allowing ventilation or conversation safely. These latches are brass, with the button missing from the one at the top left.
The old glass, with characteristic reflections, all have the same print, marked by time, showing some missing areas and defects, and two of the panes are broken: the two large rectangular ones, one has a crack at the top corner and the other has a damaged bottom corner (well photographed).
This door is fitted with a pair of sculpted bronze handles, adorned with a rosette on the facade, and a lock presumably added later with a working key.
The right leaf (viewed from the inside) features an imposing key-operated locking mechanism, with decorated handle and stays, allowing the locking of this leaf at the top and bottom. This mechanism bears the initials RG, under the entry of the key (missing), which belong to the Rémi Garnier company, founded in 1832, and still in operation.

This double door is impressive, of very fine craftsmanship, it will clearly require refreshing, and the result is likely to be spectacular!
With its bold moldings, its 4 panels with iron grilles, the fact that they open, its Rémi Garnier lock, this double door forms a very well-proportioned and high-quality ensemble!

Weight: 2 times 65kg, totaling 130kg.
Dimensions: 248.5cm high (230cm before the arched section), 144.5cm wide, 4.5cm thick (and almost 8cm counting the moldings)
