Antoine Barbier: Watercolor entitled on the back "Rochetaillée le barrage" Signed lower left and located on the back Dimensions with frame: 44.5 x 34.5 cm Dimensions of the painting: 38 x 28 cm Antoine Barbier, born May 10, 1859 in Saint-Symphorien-de-Lay and died on February 8, 1948 in Lyon, is a French watercolor and orientalist painter. Biography In 1925, he obtained a silver medal at the Salon des artistes français of which he was a member and was then placed in Hors-Concours. Grand Prize of the Lyon Society of Fine Arts and medal of honor, he became president of the Lyon section of the Friendly Society of French Painters and Sculptors. Member of the Academy of Sciences, Belles-Lettres and Arts of Lyon, he exhibited, among others, at the Salon d'hiver, at the Salon des paysagistes français, in Lyon, Algiers, Geneva, Saint-Etienne etc. His works are kept at the Carnavalet Museum, in Lyon, Bern, Brussels, Oxford, Algiers, Cairo, etc. He also decorated the Roanne Chamber of Commerce. There is a rue Antoine Barbier in Lyon.
