Superb decorative metal plaque with a patina, created in the late 19th century, representing the right profile of a helmeted Athena, based on the works of the Italian sculptor Cesare Ceribelli (1841–1918). The relief is powerful and highly detailed: helmet adorned with scrolls, drapery swirling, breastplate decorated with wings and mythical motifs. An unsigned piece, but typical of decorative productions inspired by late 19th-century Italian symbolism.
