Antique plaster sculpture Marcus Annius Towards Caesar square base H6508 This subject is in plaster, it is probably a creation from a workshop at the Louvre Museum. It is well made with a quality base. Marcus Annius Verus Caesar, born in 162 AD. BC and died September 10, 169, is the twelfth of the fourteen children of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius and the Empress Faustina the Younger. Annius was named Caesar on October 12, 166 with his brother Commodus, effectively designating them both heirs to the Roman Empire. Annius died on September 10, 169, aged seven, from complications following surgery to remove a tumor under his ear. His death leaves Commodus sole heir to the Empire. As for the condition, note classic wear and tear, a damaged nose, losses in several places, everything however remains in good general condition.
