Antique box of Asian origin, made of exotic wood with finely carved mother-of-pearl inlays depicting a traditional landscape. Handcrafted work from around 1900–1950. The top is decorated with mother-of-pearl panels and has a slit. The box features a small internal mechanism/secret system that allows it to open by pivoting the lid, creating an illusion box effect (trick box). Very beautiful cabinetmaking work. Height 8 cm. Depth 9 cm. Width 11 cm. Condition: Generally good condition for its age, with signs of use and small visible wear on the wood (see photos). The mechanism works but remains handcrafted, consistent with items from this era.
