After graduating in industrial design from the University of Arts in Tokyo, ASAHARA moved to Belgium in the 1970s to pursue his career. He quickly gained recognition as a talented designer, and his innovative work caught the attention of the design industry on an international scale.
ASAHARA’s distinctive style is characterized by a harmonious combination of organic and geometric shapes, along with the use of natural and sustainable materials.
His designs have been showcased in numerous design exhibitions around the world and have won several prestigious awards.
Freely inspired by Japanese minimalism and Zen gardens (for the base), Asahara designs the Accademia floor lamp in homage to his years of design studies in Italy in the 1980s. It will be produced by the famous Italian lighting manufacturer LUCITALIA.
Lacquered metal structure, plastic base, and satin glass lampshade, in excellent condition, nothing to report either aesthetically or functionally, signed LUCITALIA on the top of the base + original identification plate underneath.
