Colissimo delivery service Biography of Solange Bernard Solange Bernard (1925–2011) was a French painter whose work is part of the lyrical abstraction movement and free gesture. Born in Nice, she was immersed in the art world from an early age. In the 1940s, while still a student, she crossed paths with Henri Matisse in the south of France, whose use of color and freedom of line influenced her early works. She also associated with Pablo Picasso in Vallauris, where she observed with fascination his creative energy and ability to reinvent forms. Educated at the Beaux-Arts, Solange Bernard quickly moved away from figurative art to explore the paths of abstraction. Her preferred medium is paper, on which she works with ink, acrylic, or charcoal. Her gesture is instinctive, often intense, combining spontaneity and control. She stands out with a refined, organic visual language, often infused with graphic rhythms reminiscent of automatic writing. Throughout her career, she exhibited in France and occasionally in Europe, in confidential but recognized galleries. Although she never sought media attention, her works are now present in several private collections, appreciated for their inner strength and timeless modernity. --- Product sheet for announcement Title: Original ink on paper – signed Solange Bernard – Contemporary abstraction Description: Original work made in black ink on paper by the French artist Solange Bernard (1925–2011), a figure of 20th-century lyrical abstraction.
