François 1er receives at Fontainebleau in the gallery of Diana, the painting of the Holy Family sent from Rome by Raphael, as a tribute of his gratitude, surrounded by his court and famous men of the time, the King bursts his admiration for this masterpiece. At his side, we can distinguish Leonardo da Vinci, whose person and talents he esteemed in the highest degree. This period is that of the birth of letters and the arts in France.
