Very nice small subject in artisanal bronze from Dahomey, Cotonou, Benin, Africa. Figurine depicting a lion, hyena, or other predator holding prey in its mouth, such as a sheep or antelope. Gilded bronze with a dark/brown patina. Very nice detail work. Vintage from the 30s-50s. Maximum length of 16cm, 10cm without the tail, approximately 4cm maximum width for about 13cm maximum height at the head. Very good overall condition, a crack in the metal at the bottom of one leg, discreet and not compromising, a few small manufacturing defects (small holes, I noticed 2). Approximately 500-700g.
